This composition contains double stops - that just means playing two notes at once. Also, there are six beats to every bar, this is reflected in the count-in.

I Got Rhythm: Revision

You should now be able to read through all of the following rhythms. If you struggle, break it down and study one bar/line at a time. If you have forgotten what any of the symbols mean, not to worry: flick back through the book and refresh your memory. Once you feel comfortable, try playing through the whole page at a slow tempo, a fast tempo and all the other tempos in-between.

Study Piece

Once again, there are two parts to this piece: the chords and the melody. Learn the chords and play along with the Chord Backing. Then, learn the melody and play along with the Melody Backing. Notice how the melody has been constructed using only the notes from the G major pentatonic scale. You could also use the Melody Backing to make up your own melodies with this scale.
